A Peril Of Digital Photography

February 11th, 2008 By: atomicgirl

I can honestly say that I have been one of the fans of digital photography. I love taking photographs of various stuff and events with my digital camera and I love going through the whole lot of images after.

But then, I realized that digital photography has quite a number of perils and I would like to share with you one of those. And you are asking, Digital photography has perils? Yes, there are.

One of those is not being able to capture the moment.

I know. It sounds really stupid for a digital camera can take a photograph just like the old types of cameras. Think of it this way. You own a digital camera and you take tons of images. As you click away, you are thinking that you need to take various angles of your subject. Now, that is something okay. You can move about your subject and still capture what you would like your audience to see.

But what if you were with a group of friends and you were the only one who had a camera. There are those moments that you would just click for the sake of fun. You try to capture that split second when your friends are in various states of surprise because of the flash. That is a moment that you have just taken but your friends can easily delete that image and it can never be recovered again.

Come to think of it, if you do try to take another photo of your friends, it would not be the same as the one which has been deleted. In that sense, the moment which has been captured has evaporated into digital dust and has blown into the wind to be forgotten.
