Mobile Photobucket

Anybody who is a netizen (read: Internet citizen) would be familiar with Photobucket. And those who have accounts with Photobucket would be very much happy to learn that Photobucket has now gone mobile. No, I do not mean the company creating a line of mobile phones or offering mobile phone services. Photobucket going mobile means that any person who has an account with the photo hosting site would be able to view and use its features with their mobile phones.

Recently, Photobucket has announced that they have already sent out the mobile version of their popular website. Not only can users check photos available at the site but they could also upload their images and also upload video clips if they want to. All they need to have is their mobile phone. Of course, it is a given that to be able to access the mobile Photobucket, a user should have a mobile phone that can be used to surf the internet.

The decision to go mobile for Photobucket came about after the people behind the site did a survey. The information that they had gathered reflected that 80% of the site’s users own mobile phones. Furthermore, more than a quarter of the lot (36%) used their mobile phones each day and more than half of the total (52%) could access the Internet through their mobile phones. Now if that is not reason enough for Photobucket to go mobile, then I certainly do not know what is. After all, almost all popular websites are also moving with this trend too. So why shouldn’t Photobucket do it too?
