Bayan Telecomm’s Mobile Service
Bayan Telecommunications, more commonly known as BayanTel, has recently announced that they would soon be sending out their very own mobile phone service come next year. Of course, they also clarified that despite the fact that they may already be having their own cellular service, they would still be offering their wireless landline service.
The company has also publicly announced that come May next year, their mobile phone service would have already been launched. They are currently working on the whole project and are quite positive that they would be able to offer a good mobile phone service that consumers may want to use.
Tunde Fafunwa is the chief executive of BayanTel and on this development, he shares, “We are prepared to launch it next year. It could be offered on top of our CDMA-based wireless landline using GSM signal. Our main product is still wireless landline. We will allot only about 10 to 15 percent of our wireless landline budget to cellular expansion.”
With that, it would be interesting to note that they would not be letting go of their wireless landline and landline services just yet. In fact, subscribers of BayanTel landline and wireless landline services would not have to worry for such would still be offered by the company. Of course, the company sure would not be junking such services for statistics have it that BayanTel is earning quite a huge amount in revenue each year for the wireless landline service alone. Think P1.5 billion to P2 billion.

it is interesting to hear t hat Bayantel will be launching it GSM cellular service next year. I’m not quite sure if they are using their license to operate CMTS through its wireless landling service. Are they the same or still different from each other? Is bayantel making progress in terms of building GSM stations nationwide?
