Joining paid surveys is a tempting online moneymaking option. The job seems easy and convenient. All you need is fill out survey forms or join group discussions to earn those extra bucks. It’s not surprising that it quickly gained popularity in the online community. But while there are survey sites that really pay, many people fall into scams.

To avoid falling into traps of online cons, you have to be wary of these money making sites. Trusting your intuition can be the easiest route to tell if a site is a sham. If you notice something suspicious, do not waste another second on that site.

A scam site usually asks for a joining fee or any amount before you can supposedly earn. Remember that these paid surveys are sponsored mostly by marketing companies who want to know more about a service or product’s target market. They don’t need to ask money from you since their clients pay for this. Furthermore, if the offer seems too enticing for such a job, it could very well lead to a scam.

If the site has a shady privacy policy and company profile, stay away from it. You can browse for further information on the program or company. Most scam sites are already listed so be sure to check if the company is legitimate. Most importantly, do not give out financial information such as your credit card number.  In fact, even your phone number and email address can benefit scammers. They can sell it to third parties as part of a telemarketing database.

Paid surveys can be profitable but if you’re not cautious, you would not only lose time and effort on answering questionnaires but also become victims of online frauds and identity thefts.
