Your Online Images Could Be Photonapped
Photonapped? A new word to you?
Well, when you say photonapped, you actually would be referring to the act of someone else using your online images for other purposes. For example, you have posted in your online album that picture of you and your siblings clowning around at your mom’s birthday bash. The next thing you know, you find that very photograph being used by some person in his blog and that just does not appeal to you much.
One reason, that photograph is yours and it should not be posted anywhere else without your permission. And the second reason is that the image has been used in a negative way so much so that you become the joke and not the joker. That hurts.
Now that is the explanation of what you mean when you use the term photonapped.
Did you know that large corporations have been photonapping images over the internet for quite some time now? You may not have noticed it but they are. A report online even stated some samples of cases wherein ordinary people’s images are used by large corporations without even an acknowledgement of who owned the image.
This should be one thing that we all should be aware of. One of the things that we should learn from this issue is that we first read all the things included in the terms and agreements section of image hosting sites online. Although they may be in fine print, it serves as the contract between you and the site.
