LiveJournal Now Part of Russian SUP Firm
Have you been a blogger for years now? Well, if you are, have you considered using LiveJournal as the site which would host your blog?
Well, it has recently come into everyone’s attention that LiveJournal has just been bought by the media company SUP. SUP is based in Moscow, Russia and the company has disclosed that they have thought of purchasing the blog-hosting company as part of their move towards creating and developing a community of people from all over the world who do keep online journals.
SUP has disclosed the terms that they had agreed on with the previous owner of LiveJournal. According to the media company from Russia, they had been able to purchase LiveJournal from the company Six Apart Ltd. which is based in San Francisco in the United States. Though they might be based in Russia, the company has decided that operations of the free blogging web site would still be continued in San Francisco, California.
According to sources, SUP is really celebrating the acquisition of this free blog hosting web site. In fact, a party in celebration of the purchase of LiveJournal would be held this coming Monday in a restaurant in San Francisco. The Six Apart mascot, which is a live goat, would be there as part of the celebrations. And if you are quite familiar with LiveJournal, you would know that LiveJournal’s mascot is Frank, a white goat, who constantly appears in advertisements and announcements in the web site’s sidebar.
Now there is no need to worry for there sure would not be much changes, especially if you are a LiveJournal user.
